GRUPO 4: ON or IN?

Hello dear pupils!!! How are you today? Fine? I hope so…
During our last lesson, we saw the expression “on a plane”, and we weren’t sure if we could also say “in a plane”. Well, here is the explanation:
In = en (dentro de) with the idea of being contained: in a glass/room/my hand/France/Madrid/Pinoso…
On = en (encima de, sobre) but with no idea of being contained: on the floor/table/the back of my hand/page 63/an island….
On also functions in 2 dimensions –on a line (+ off a line), which explains why you get on a bus/train/plane (which travel on lines) but in(to) a taxi or a car (which go where you want them to, -i.e. they don’t run on lines)
Hola alumnos, ¿qué tal estáis hoy? ¿bien?
See you ON Monday…
